The full moon of June captivates us. It’s an astronomical event that ancestors ascribed cultural rituals and touchstones to mark a seasonal change. Connecting with nature’s rhythms, transformative energy, renewal, and spirituality, June’s full Moon in the Northern Hemisphere, known as the Strawberry Moon, will appear exceptionally low in the sky. Whereas, in the Southern Hemisphere, the full Moon will be exceptionally high.

This unique Moon will be at its farthest point from Earth in its elliptical orbit and it’ll appear slightly smaller and dimmer compared to the average Moon. However, when it sits low on the horizon, it might appear unusually large because our brains cleverly compare the Moon to objects on the horizon, making the Moon seem magnified. And with the low-hanging full Moon, it will take on a goldeny orange hue. That’s due to light traveling through a greater amount of our atmosphere that scatters out shorter bluer wavelengths of light, which allow for the redder tones.

Beyond the scientific aspects, take this moment to cultivate your wellness. Ease into the radiant charm of the Strawberry Moon. Harvest your passions, cultivate your senses. Dream, sleep well.
